My story…
When I say that yoga can take away every-day aches and pains, I’m speaking from experience. I’ve been practicing yoga for nearly 20 years now. During that time, I had two children with only 18 months between them. As I grappled with the demands of motherhood, I let my yoga practice slip. I began to have significant problems with my hips with intermittent stabbing pain in my groin. Sometimes this got so bad, it stopped me from walking.
I went to the GP and was referred to a consultant who recommended a laparoscopy. However, at the same time, I took up yoga again. Within a couple of months of regular practice (including daily exercises at home), all my symptoms had gone and I was able to cancel the operation.
I also know, from experience, how important it is to allow yourself to relax. We live in such a frantic, stressful world and rarely allow ourselves time to properly recharge. I used to work in an incredibly busy, all-consuming marketing job that drained me of all my energy. I felt like I was always ‘on’ and yoga became my only release. In 2017, I decided I wanted to change direction. I quit my job and decided to do something more meaningful.
It’s now my mission to bring all the benefits of yoga to more people just like me in Salisbury!
